Who we are

A Baptist church in Clarkston, Georgia — gathered around Jesus and the Bible since 2015, and rooted in the Zomi community of metro Atlanta. Clarkston is where many Zomi families first make their home in America; on Sundays, our congregation gathers there from across the city.

We spent a long season seeking the Lord’s will about when to begin. When His direction became clear, Evangelical Baptist Church GA Inc — EBC Pawlpi GA Inc — held its first worship service on January 4, 2015: eleven Zomi believers living in Atlanta, gathered with Pastor EnThang, who planted the church.

We registered with the Secretary of State of Georgia on November 19, 2017, and we are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

From the beginning, our worship has been in the Zomi language. In January 2025, we began our youth program in English, for the young people growing up here. Today the congregation is led by Rev. Dr. Dal Go Mang.

Our greatest appreciation goes to God, who has faithfully guided us to our tenth anniversary.

Why this church exists

Four purposes, written at the beginning and unchanged since.

1. A place of rest and worship — To be a place of fellowship, prayer, and worship that gives spiritual refreshment and strength to the weary — especially the Zomi people who have come to live and work in the United States.

2. Support of missions in Burma — To use our offering for gospel work in Burma, as we have since our first year.

3. Sharing burdens and joys — To carry one another’s burdens in times of distress and sorrow, and to share one another’s joy.

4. Growing as disciples together — To grow as a community of disciples through our services, home cells, and seasons of fasting and prayer.

What we believe

THE BIBLE — God’s Word: trustworthy, sufficient, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

GOD — One God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS — Fully God and fully man. He lived the life we could not live, died in our place for our sin, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again.

SALVATION — A gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Christ alone — never earned by anything we do.

BAPTISM — We baptize believers by immersion, as a public picture of dying and rising with Christ. It doesn’t save; it declares.

THE LORD’S SUPPER — Bread and cup shared in remembrance of Jesus’ death, until he comes.

THE CHURCH — A local family of believers, sent into the world with the gospel.

MISSION — Jesus told his followers to make disciples of all nations. For us that means both Clarkston and Burma.

Our seal carries John 3:7 — “You must be born again.” It has been on this church since the beginning.

Our pastor — Rev. Dr. Dal Go Mang

Our church was planted in 2015 by Pastor EnThang. Today the congregation is led by Rev. Dr. Dal Go Mang — he preaches each Sunday, leads our Thursday prayer gathering, and is the person your prayer requests reach, including the ones you’d rather keep private. Our ministries

Choir — Leads sung worship at every Sunday service.

AWANA — Bible teaching, Scripture memory, and games for children — Saturday evenings, 7:00–9:00, in English.

Youth — English-language ministry for young people growing up between two languages — begun January 2025.

Home Cell — Worship and fellowship in a smaller setting — Saturday evenings, for adults.

Missions in Burma — Gospel work supported by our offering since the church’s first year.
